If you are considering Assistant or Deputy Headteacher roles, or simply wanting to develop your leadership skills further in your own school, then this network is perfect for you!
In association with New York Teaching School, we have put together a bespoke programme that will address the wide range of knowledge and skills needed to be a successful Deputy or Assistant Headteacher.
These sessions will be informal and supportive. Refreshments will be provided, allowing for a regular opportunity for you to chat, create a network of colleagues and share ideas and experiences around your role. Each session will cover a different aspect of the role within education and schools. Experienced colleagues will lead each session, providing an opportunity for discussion, shared learning and sharing of experiences and knowledge in relation to each of the aspects of focus.
We have organised eight sessions with a theme and key speaker for each session (please see below) and a celebratory final session (nine in total).
• OFSTED/School Improvement Partners
• Health and Safety
• Early Intervention/Front Door Gateway
• Governors Services
• Working with staff/Developing relationships
The sessions are planned for Thursday afternoons and will be held alternately at Percy Main Primary School and Spring Gardens Primary School.
Refreshments will be provided from 1.15pm. This is for informal networking/support and catch up.
The key speaker session then begins at 2.15 for approx. an hour. Following this session there will be time for colleagues to discuss themes and reflect.
Each session will end at 4.15pm.
We have confirmation of the following sessions with others to follow shortly.
We look forward to working with on this exciting new network! "
